My life has always been stories, these little montages of memories stored away in the memory card of my brain. The love in my Grandma’s box-made pancakes. The silent companionship of sifting through my dad’s record collection with him. That time, we got in a car, went for a drive, and kept on driving because the world is big and beautiful, and there’s so much I want to see.
All these stories, all this life. All these moments that come together to make up a whole life. It’s what I’m here for - intentionally holding on to these moments and these stories. So what do you say? Want to create a wedding film with me that will span generations?
No, really– I come from a family of lion tamers. I grew up listening to my grandpa's incredible stories– rescuing mountain lions from flooded California waters and retrieving stray lions from biker gangs on calls from the local PD. The lions aside, I was completely enthralled by his stories. His tales were always astonishing, and I often felt like I’d been pulled out of my body and into the action.
My parents used to joke that the only thing that could keep me sitting still longer than a few minutes was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang– which is impressive because the movie is 2 and a half hours long with a 10-minute intermission. Movies and books quickly became fundamental to my childhood, and from a young age, I was captivated by storytelling.
I’ve always felt a creative streak in me. You could find me playing in bands, writing, and running around the basement in my childhood home putting on plays with my two older sisters. As I got older, my creativity took new and exciting paths, from starring in lead roles for school musical productions to playing out with some of my greatest friends.
I picked up the guitar around age 12. My dad saw how much I loved playing Guitar Hero and surprised me on my birthday with a beautiful red electric guitar. I remember playing that thing for HOURS on end (mostly the intro riff for Sweet Child O' Mine (my sisters loved me for it lol)). Music has always played an important role in my life.
If I’m not creating, I’m probably pitching a tent in the woods somewhere. In 2017, I jumped in a tiny Nissan hatchback with my best friend and drove across the western United States, backpacking in national parks along the way. It was a journey that opened my eyes to a depth of human experience & culture that I had not yet shared.
I believe that the people we surround ourselves with dictate who we will become. I've been SO lucky to have grown up around such a great support system of people who love me deeply. Looking back at old home videos of my childhood brings me pure joy, and having those memories of lost loved ones captured in film takes me right back.
My goal is to craft a feature film that is so authentic to you that even strangers feel as though they are a part of your love story. Doing that requires more than just showing up and hitting “record.” The planning process begins as soon as you decide you’re in, so we have plenty of time to get to know each other. I can begin thinking about how to showcase your relationship in a fun and authentic way.
Nick’s unique style stood out immediately. He was so intentional from start to finish, truly getting to know us and capturing our personalities and love story. We didn’t want a super sappy video, and Nick nailed it, making our film emotional, fun, and beyond our expectations. Our family and friends said it felt like watching a movie, and we can’t stop replaying it. Nick was fantastic to have around on the wedding day—professional, fun, and made us feel comfortable. We highly recommend Nick for anyone wanting their love story captured beautifully."
His unique and quirky approach adds an extra layer of fun to a wedding day. With his unconventional-in-the-very-best-way style, he manages to expertly capture the essence of the couple's personality, turning his films into vibrant, memorable masterpieces. If you're looking for a videographer who can infuse a touch of whimsy into your wedding memories, Nick is a top-notch choice. Five stars for his creativity and infectious enthusiasm!”
My husband and I are still BEAMING from our wedding day. One of the biggest reasons why our day was so special, was working with the Burnt Toast Film Co. team. Nick is fun, kind, professional, creative and organized. He worked so well with us, our bridal party, and our other vendors. We got SO MANY complements throughout the night. It’s been 4 days since our wedding day, and we already have our teaser trailer! We are so impressed, so grateful, and our family and friends are RAVING over our film. Our day was so magical, and Nick captured it so beautifully. Best wedding videographer we could have asked for.”
