Alex & Rachael were childhood neighbors, oblivious to their proximity. High school brought mutual crushes, but fate delayed their meeting until ‘Bumble’ finally intervened. Rachael hoped for this match to be her final swipe. Living miles apart they persisted and continued to show up for one another. Years of back-and-forth travel culminated in Rachael’s decisive move from Philadelphia to Colorado to be with her love. It was her final swipe, after all. 

Alex + Rachael started off their elopement day at Music Meadows Ranch for an adventure session. This ranch is conveniently located about 10 minutes down the road from their venue (Three Peaks Ranch) and regularly hosts groups of horse lovers for week-long “get away” retreats as well as riding & photography workshops. The owner, Elin, was kind enough to allow these two to stop out and enjoy a quick lesson/ride before they said their “I do’s”.

After their ride, they drove back to Three Peaks Ranch to get ready for their Ceremony. Everyone was feeling a bit tired so we all took a break for a cup of coffee! They took their brew out to the beautiful covered porch in Three Peak’s Crestone Peak Cabin before hopping into a bubble bath to clean up!

The sun was beginning to set and everyone was ready to head out into the meadows for the exchange of vows. What better spot to confess your love on a horse ranch than right in the middle of the herd! These guys made for tricky filming but they sure did add something special to an already incredible moment!

For each couple I work with, I take time either before or after your elopement to sit down and dig deeper into your love story. THIS is the Burnt Toast FIlm Co. difference! With this sit down, I am able to approach your wedding day with intention to create the feature film you see below, rather than a simple montage of the day. For Alex & Rachael, this sit down took place fireside shortly after they said their “I do’s”!
